Paskenta Band wants 320 acres placed in trust

The Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians is asking the Bureau of Indian Affairs to place 320 acres in trust.

The land is adjacent to the tribe's reservation in northern California. The Tehama County Board of Supervisors is debating whether to support the application.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has set an August 6 deadline to respond to the application. The county is seeking an extension in order to consider its position.
