The Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma and two partners are putting together plans for an energy park outside of Tulsa.
The tribe plans to acquire anywhere from 700 to 2,000 acres for the project. Chief Kay Rhoads said details are still being discussed but she cited tribal provisions in the recent National Energy Policy Act as the impetus for the deal.
Partners in the project are a subsidiary of Tulsa-based SemGroup and M&M Energy Group of Florida. They are considering a wide range of options, including an oil refinery, a coal gasification power plant, ethanol and biodiesel plants, and research and development facilities
