A Davie, Florida, woman who was behind a racist cartoon of a Seminole Tribe leader has resigned her post on a town board.
Karen Stenzel-Nowicki sent a letter to town officials announcing her departure. She gave no reason but she has been under fire for admitting to circulating a cartoon that depicted Seminole council member Max Osceola as a drum-beating, half-naked beast.
Town leaders had tried to remove Stenzel-Nowicki from her position on a planning board earlier this month but failed by a 3-2 vote.
