Arizona tribes work to lure tourists to reservation

Arizona's 22 tribes are working with the state Office of Tourism on ways to bring more tourists to their reservations.

A study by the office showed that tribal culture is a primary draw for tourists. Most of the tourists who like to visit reservations have higher average incomes, according to the study.

To tap into the market, tribes are submitting more information to help the state develop materials for tourists. The office plans to create an advertising campaign to target visitors from Europe, Japan and the western U.S.
