Funding constraints have forced the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe to cancel the upcoming Nevada Indian Days Indian National Finals Rodeo this weekend.
However, the powwow and parade at the fairgrounds in Fallon will still take place as planned.
The tribe took over the rodeo four years ago. Last year, it attracted 262 competitors in 395 events.
The powwow is expected to draw 300 dancers and drum groups. It starts Friday and runs through Sunday.
