Fires in northern Saskatchewan are threatening several First Nations communities.
More than 1,900 people have been evacuated from communities in the La Ronge area. Reserves at Wadin Bay, Sucker River, Stanley Mission and Grandmother's Bay are among those affected by the fires.
The large number of blazes burning across Saskatchewan has led to a lack of manpower. So the
Prince Albert Grand Council, which represents 12 First Nations, is training tribal members to assist government fire crews.
