Ned Norris Jr., the vice chairman of the Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona, is stepping down after three years on the job.
Norris cited personal reasons for his resignation. He will step down July 28.
Norris was elected as the running mate of Chairwoman Vivian Juan-Saunders. In a statement, Juan-Saunders praised Norris for the work he did.
The next tribal election isn't until May 2007. It is not clear who will serve as vice chairman until then.
