The Cherokee Nation will run its language immersion program at the tribal school in Tahlequah starting in June.
The program started three years ago at the Lost City public school. But the tribe decided to bring it in-house for kindergarten and first-grade students at the tribal school.
The move comes amid scrutiny of the Lost City school. A state audit found that the school couldn't account for $756,000 in federal impact aid money even though it has fewer than 60 students.
