The Navajo Nation Council voted 44-9 to table a bill that would enable the sharing of driving records with the states of New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.

Supporters say the tribe should share drunk-driving convictions in tribal court with the states. But the bill is being delayed until an agreement is reached on the types of records that will be shared.

The bill was raised during the council's spring session, which came to an early recess on Wednesday afternoon when fewer than half of the delegates showed up for work.
