Water levels in the Carrot River on the Red Earth Reserve in Saskatchewan dropped but residents will have to wait several more days before returning home.
Flood waters crashed through eight homes and threatened others on the reserve. About 900 to 1,000 people were forced to seek refuge in Prince Albert and Saskatoon. The Salvation Army has been helping some of the evacuees with food and other services.
Depending on how quickly the water subsides, residents may be able to go home as early as this weekend.
