University of Oklahoma to host Indian symposium


The 11th annual Symposium on American Indians takes place April 12 at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

The symposium features discussions and breakout sessions on nation building, international partnerships, tribal council accountability, economic reform and gaming projections. Speakers will include Enoch Kelly Haney, the principal chief of the Seminole Nation, and Phillip Martin, the chief of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

The OU Native American Studies Program is sponsoring the event.
