Wesley Vernon Jefferson, a member of the Lummi Nation of Washington, has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for strangling his girlfriend and attempting to cover up her death.
Jefferson, 22, admitted to killing Sophia Solomon, 23, in December 2004. He then tried to hang her body from a tree on the Tulalip Reservation in order to make it seem as if she committed suicide.
Jefferson faces 10 years for his crime. He is the father of Solomon's children, who are enrolled with the Lummi Nation.
