A judge in Wyoming has denied a request to move the trial of a Northern Arapaho man accused of murdering his 22-month-old daughter.
Andrew Yellowbear Jr., 31, wanted the trial moved out of Hot Springs County, citing publicity surrounding the case and potential anti-Indian bias. But Judge David Park ruled that Yellowbear sought the publicity himself by making hundreds of calls and sending out letters from jail, many to media outlets.
Yellowbear already succeeded in moving the trial from Fremont County, citing potential bias among members of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe. His deceased daughter, Marcella Hope Yellowbear, was a Shoshone tribal member.
