The boys and girls basketball teams at a high school in Montana have forfeited the rest of their games on the Crow Reservation due to safety concerns, The Billings Gazette reports.
Recent incidents between Shepherd High School and Lodge Grass High School prompted the decision. In December, the Lodge Grass boys team was hit with six technical fouls for unsportsmanlike conduct. Two of the fouls were against the coaches.
In November, Lodge Grass teens were accused of threatening the Shepherd girls team as the girls rode a bus into the reservation. Three boys were arrested and charged with criminal mischief and endangerment.
The Shepherd boys and girls teams each only had one remaining game against Lodge Grass. The two schools will continue to compete in other sports. Tournament games were not forfeited.
