Alabama Democrats are hoping to use the controversy over Jack Abramoff against Republican Gov. Bob Riley and other Republicans,
Riley has campaigned against the expansion of gaming in the state. When he was a U.S. Congressman, he signed onto a letter that singled out the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
The letter was written by the U.S. Family Network. The group took $250,000 from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, who wanted to stop the rival Poarch Band from expanding its gaming enterprise.
Riley says he won't stop speaking out against gaming but the Democratic candidate for governor, Don Siegelman, says he will use Abramoff's links to Riley in the campaign.
