Fourth suspect in Navajo homicides still at large

The FBI is confident Michael Johnson, the fourth suspect in a triple homicide on the Navajo Nation, will be captured and brought to justice.

Johnson, 26, pictured at right, is accused in connection with the drug-related murders of three young Navajos. Tribal leaders said the incident highlights the dangers associated with methamphetamine.

"We knew it was inevitable something violent would happen here as a result of that," Duane "Chili" Yazzie, the president of the Shiprock Chapter of the Navajo Nation, told The Farmington Daily Times.

The killings occurred in the Shiprock area, near the Hogback Chapter house. Bobby Fulton, 20, Lars Yazzie, 18, and Vicki Benally, 26, had been shot multiple times after Fulton was lured to the scene to sell meth, according to news reports.

The homicides sparked a major manhunt on the reservation, resulting in the capture and arrest of Darcy Robert Manus, 22, and Chuck Nahkai, 29. A third suspect, Eugina Cowboy, 22, was arrested before the manhunt.

Family members said Fulton was a known drug dealer.
