Republican U.S. Senate candidate Van Hilleary accepted $10,000 from two tribal clients of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
The money was donated to one of Hilleary's old political action committees back in May 2002. Hilleary denies knowing Abramoff or the tribes.
Hilleary is a former U.S. Congressman and former Republican nominee for governor for Tennessee. He is running for the Senate in hopes of replacing Sen. Bill Frist (R-Tennessee), the majority leader who is not seeking re-election.
