The Native American Student Association at the University of Michigan are including Black Indians are part of the Native American Heritage Month.
Native students are working with African-American students and the Center for Afro-American and African Studies to develop events about Black Indians. Martha Redbone, a singer of Black and Native heritage, will perform at the school.
Native students are organizing other events in hopes of educating people about Native people and culture.
