A two-year-old boy from the Yankton Sioux Tribe of South Dakota died after a gasoline spill caused a flash fire, the state fire marshal said.
Joseph Miller was playing with his sister in the basement of their home. Somehow, a container with the gas got tipped over and a gas hot water heater ignited flames. Joseph was burned and died at the Indian Health Service hospital in Wagner. His sister suffered burns to her hands.
Services for Joseph are being held today at the Yankton Sioux Tribe Youth Center Gym in Wagner.
