Tesuque Pueblo in northern New Mexico has filed a lawsuit in federal court to halt the expansion of a ski area outside of Santa Fe.
The tribe says the construction of a triple chairlift at Ski Santa Fe will expose shrines and sacred sites. Tribal members conduct ceremonies in the area.
Ski Santa Fe plans to complete the chairlift by Thanksgiving.
