More than 400 people attended a memorial service for Iola Winifred Lobehan Bill, an elder of the Muckleshoot Tribe of Washington who passed away at the age of 89.
"Grandma Iola" was the oldest member of the tribe. She was remembered for her good nature and willingness to help others.
Bill was one of the few remaining speakers of Whulshootseed, the Muckleshoot language. She was known for her efforts to keep tribal culture alive.
Bill died of natural causes at her home on the reservation on September 29.
