Michael Kabotie, a member of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona, is Texas Tech University's Artist-in-Residency.
Kabotie is showing his works at the university and reaching out to the community. He has taught painting and jewelry classes, presented lectures and showed local high school students how to make jewelry.
Kabotie said his work is inspired by his Hopi heritage.
