Missing Indian woman identified after 32 years


The body of an Indian woman who disappeared 32 years ago has been positively identified as Louella Janice "Ludy" Monroe, a Potawatomi/Kickapoo woman from Kansas.

Monroe's body was found five years ago near the Kickapoo Reservation. Police identified her using DNA testing.

Monroe was last seen in 1973. A suspect in her disappearance has since died. Her parents and two siblings have also passed away.

A traditional burial will be held Saturday on the Kickapoo Reservation.
