Tribal elders are the focus of a forthcoming book published by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina.
"Cherokee Elders: Our Greatest Generation" records memories and photos from about 350 elders. They share their experiences about school, sports and other topics.
The tribe is distributing the first run of 1,000 copies to elders, schools and other institutions. Proceeds from book sales will be used to help fund senior services.
