House and Senate leaders hope to send the energy policy legislation to President Bush by the end of the week.
The package, years in the making, includes provisions aimed at encouraging development on Indian lands by streamlining the federal review process. A copy of the Indian title can be found at http://energy.senate.gov/public/_files/IndianEnergy.pdf.
The bill also extends daylight savings time by four weeks in hopes of saving electricity. Starting in 2007, daylight savings time will begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November.
