Surgeon at Indian center claims police brutality

A heart surgeon working at the Gallup Indian Medical Center is considering a lawsuit against police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after he suffered injuries during an incident with officers.

Vincent Moss of New York City said he was beaten outside a bar in downtown Albuquerque. His shoulder was dislocated when he was pushed to the ground.

The bar owner has disputed Moss' version of events although the injuries are real. Moss can't perform surgeries without an assistant.

Moss went to Gallup because he said he wants to help Native Americans. As a major in the U.S. Army reserves, he is scheduled to ship out to Iraq in the fall.
