Looters are stealing important cultural artifacts from Native burial grounds and other important sites along the Missouri River.
Falling water levels in the river have exposed the sites to thieves. One man was recently caught with 15 bags of artifacts he collected along the banks of the Missouri.
Some of the items end up on eBay. Others are traded among collectors. Either way, it's an offense punishable by fines. Federal authorities hope to crack down on the thefts.
To report looting, call 1-866-NO SWIPE.
