Republican Ralph Reed says he was more than "happy" to take money from disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff if it meant fighting against the expansion of gaming.

Reed took millions from Abramoff's tribal clients but has denied knowing the source of the funds. He said e-mails released by the Senate Indian Affairs Committee aren't inconsistent with this position.

The e-mails show that Reed knew some of the money he received came from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, a gaming tribe. But Reed says he was told that the money didn't come from the tribe's casino.

Reed is running for lieutenant governor of Georgia.
