Adam Ness, a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, suffered a knee injury during his final year playing football for Ashwaubenon High School.
But the injury didn't keep Ness, a defensive back, from attending every practice. He was able to play in the semifinals before the season ended last year.
Despite wearing a knee brace after having surgery in December, Ness also played in the Native American All-Star Game at Haskell Indian Nations University last Friday. His team, the East all-stars, beat the West 42-0.
