Wisconsin high school unveils new Indian logo

A high school Wisconsin has unveiled a new Indian logo with the support of the Hannahville Indian Community of Michigan.

Teams at the Mishicot High School have been known as the "Indians" for 60 years. Mishicot is named after Potawatomi Chief Abraham Mishicot, whose descendants live at Hannahville.

The tribe supports the "Indians" name and backed the creation of a new logo to better reflect its culture. The old logo [at right] featured a full-feathered headdress not worn among the Potawatomis.
