A rare 150-year-old bison-hide tepee is being displayed for the first time in public in over 50 years.
Made from 16 to 20 bison hides, the tepee is one of the few of its kind remaining. It belongs to the Lawyer family of the Nez Perce Tribe.
Mylie Lawyer, whose father lived in the tepee that was owned by his great-grandmother, is allowing the National Park Service to display the rare item. The last time it was shown in public was at a National Congress of American Indians convention in Idaho in the 1950s.
