First Nations leaders worried about university spat

Tribal chiefs in Saskatchewan are worried about the way the controversy over the First Nations University of Canada is being handled.

The chiefs are worried that students and the university's reputation have been hurt by the firings of top school officials and a reported financial crisis. The chiefs are drafting a proposal for the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations to create a task force to address the concerns.

FSIN vice chief Morley Watson is the chair of the FNUC board of directors. He has defended his handling of the controversy.
