Editorial: Indian entrepreneurs headed on right path


"Economic development long has been seen as an important building block for Indian reservations.

Only in the past several years, though, has the focus turned to home-grown businesses - Native American entrepreneurs.

And now, we're at the logical extension of that - teaching young people the skills they need to start and run their own businesses.

Across Indian County in South Dakota, efforts are being made to draw young people into business. And now there's an American Indian Business Leaders chapter at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte High School. The group serves as a support system and helps Native American youths develop skills and contacts."
