Onondaga Nation pushes for cleanup of lake

Leaders of the Onondaga Nation of New York attended Honeywell International's annual meeting on Monday to push for the cleanup of Onondaga Lake.

Tribal leaders told the company that a proposed $451 million cleanup is inadequate. They want the entire lake dredged, rather than the scaled-back plan sought by Honeywell.

Onondaga Lake is one of the tribe's sacred sites. The tribe has filed a land claim lawsuit to seek the cleanup of the lake and other lands.
