The Lytton Band of Pomo Indians is said to be discussing a possible takeover of a hospital in the Bay Area.
The tribe owns 9.5 acres in San Pablo where it plans a casino. The Doctors Medical Center is located next to the site.
Irwin Hansen, the CEO of the center, said the tribe could purchase the hospital and build a new one elsewhere. That would alleviate potential traffic woes from the casino, he said.
