Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe sees big development

The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe of Washington is foreseeing some major development in its future.

The tribe has already broke ground on a $2.8 million expansion of its Indian Health Service clinic. The project, financed by the tribe and federal sources, will increase the size of the facility by six.

Next up is a 48,000-square foot Wellness Center, said Cecile Greenway, the tribe's health and social services director. Other plans include a restaurant, an open-air amphitheater, playgrounds and trails.
