Oglala Sioux Tribe discusses bombing range cleanup

The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota met with federal agencies on Thursday to discuss cleanup efforts at an old bombing range.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has spent $20 million to reclaim the 341,719-acre Badlands Bombing Range. About $5 million will be spend this year and the next on the project.

Tribal officials support the effort but are worried over the closure of an office that informed people about the cleanup. They also want the Army Corps to give Indian preference to contractors that assist the cleanup.
