Members of the Puyallup and Makah tribes drummed and chanted in support of naming a school in Washington after the late Puyallup tribal chief Robert Satiacum.

The Federal Way School Board is meeting today to consider a name for the city's newest middle school. Traditionally, schools are given names from Native history or literature.

Tribal members say Satiacum, who died in 1991, was a respected leader who fits the bill. But he was also convicted of racketeering and embezzlement, fled to Canada to avoid prosecution and had been convicted of child molestation shortly before he died.
