The president of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is proposing a compromise with the owner of a hog farm on the reservation.
President Charles Colombe said he wants the tribal council to allow Sun Prairie to keep operating the farm. But he said the company has to agree not to expand.
The tribe and Sun Prairie have been locked in a legal dispute for several years. The lease allowing the expansion was invalidated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs but was later reinstated by a federal judge.
