Leaders of a trouble Innu Nation community in Labrador are being accused of using tribal money to fund drug and alcohol runs.

Sources told CBC News that tribal council members are smuggling marijuana and cocaine into the community. One council member allegedly received a shipment of beer distributed before a recent election.

Some Innu members complained to the federal Department of Indian and Northern Affairs but the allegations were ignored. Chief Simon Pokue denies there is any wrongdoing on behalf of tribal leaders.
