Another urban reserve proposed in Manitoba

Native leaders in Manitoba want to establish an urban reserve in Winnipeg to promote economic development.

The Roseau River First Nation and the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs want to buy an abandoned 70-hectare site in the city. The land would be used for a training center, commercial buildings and an inter-tribal facility.

Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz said he supports Native economic development but hasn't seen plans for the urban reserve.
