A family in Reno, Nevada, has stepped in to help members of the Fort McDermitt Paiute-Shoshone Tribe who were recently hit by fire.

Robin Kazel donated wood and fencing after hearing that tribal members affected by the fire had no way to heat their homes. The August 29 fire had destroyed sheds containing firewood.

The tribe has asked the Bureau of Indian Affairs for help but is still waiting for assistance. The Nevada Indian Commission is helping the tribe locate firewood.
