A golf course on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota is the first in the state to join a national youth organization.
The First Tee group certified the golf course as a chapter. The status will enable the Lakota Golf Association to obtain funding as a non-profit.
The Lakota association plans to expand the course and expand golfing options on the reservation.
