A member of the Tohono O'odham Nation's Legislative Council is facing removal from office for two alcohol-related incidents.

Dennis Jose, who represents the Sells District, was fined $275 in September and received a suspended sentence for drinking and transporting beer on a part of the reservation where alcohol is illegal, The Arizona Daily Star reported. Later that month, he was fined $975 and spend three days in jail after pleading guilty to a DUI charge in Tucson, the paper said.

Jose will have a chance to defend himself at a hearing today.
