A skull of a 200-year-old Native Hawaiian warrior was returned to Hawaii this week.
As a teenager in 1969, Jerry Hasson took the skull from a beach in Maui. He recently tried to sell the skull on eBay, where it was purchased by a Bureau of Indian Affairs undercover for $2,500. Hasson later pleaded guilty to a charge of interstate commerce with illegally unearthed archaeological items.
The skull was repatriated to Hui Malama I Na Kupuna O Hawaii Nei.
