Tribe in Florida receives donation of 28 acres

An anonymous donor has given nearly 28 acres of land to a Creek tribe based in Florida.

The Santa Rosa County Creek Indian Tribe has big plans for the land. Chief Tom Nichols envisions a tribal headquarters and heritage center, an education center, health and day care center, a traditional Creek village, nature trails and a cemetery.

The tribe is not federally recognized and has 548 members.
