Authorities in Fort Worth, Texas, plan to seek the death penalty against a man who is accused of murdering a woman from the Pine Ridge Reservation in 1985.
Sharyn Kills Back, 18, was a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. She was living in Arlington, Texas, when she went missing on March 14, 1985. Her strangled body was found a week later. She had been raped.
DNA evidence linked the crime to Curtis Don Brown, a convicted murder who has been recently charged in the death of another Texas woman and is a suspect in a string of other cases. Brown is currently in jail.
