Employees, council members and the chairman and vice chairman of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana are in line for pay raises.
Employees will receive a 5 percent raise under a proposal that was given tentative approval by the council. The council members will receive a $15,000 raise, bringing their salaries to $85,000.
The chairman and vice chairman would also receive the $15,000 raise. The chairman is currently paid $80,000 and the vice chairman is currently paid $75,000.
The figures could be adjusted once they win final council approval. Two council members voted against the raise.
