The Navajo Nation Animal Control Division euthanized five dogs after an elderly Navajo couple accused the pack of mauling their sheep.
Daniel and Rosemary Lee of Beclabito, New Mexico, complained that the tribe didn't do anything about their four dead sheep. But after The Farmington Daily Times published a story, the tribe put the dogs to sleep.
The owner of one of the dogs alleged to have been involved is now facing a lawsuit by the Lees. The couple wants at least $350 for each head of sheep.
