A documentary about the 1973 American Indian Movement's occupation of Wounded Knee on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota is going national.
"A Tattoo on My Heart: The Warriors of Wounded Knee 1973" was culled from 39 hours of interviews at the 30th anniversary reunion of Wounded Knee. Filmmakers Charles Abourezk and Brett Lawlor added a script, news footage and photographs and completed the 59-minute package.
The documentary is being supplied by South Dakota Public Broadcasting [More Info]. An upcoming viewing is Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 9pm on Wyoming Public Television.
